# Getting started with Shortn

Shortn turns long URLs into short links you can share, print as QR codes or collect on a bio page, and it counts every click and scan. This guide covers creating an account, finding your way around the dashboard and creating your first short link.

## Create your account

1. Go to [app.shortn.at/register](https://app.shortn.at/register).
2. Enter your full name, a username, your email and a password, then select **Create account**. If the page offers **Continue with Google** or **Continue with GitHub**, you can use one of those instead.
3. Open the verification email and follow its link. The link works for one hour. If it has expired, or the email didn't arrive, request a new one with **Resend email**.
4. Sign in at [app.shortn.at/login](https://app.shortn.at/login) with your email or username.

Your account starts with a personal workspace on the Free plan.

## Find your way around

The sidebar holds the main sections of the dashboard:

- **Links**: every short link in the workspace, with search, tag filters, archive and trash.
- **Analytics**: clicks and QR scans across the workspace.
- **QR codes**: codes you design, download and print.
- **Bio pages**: link-in-bio pages with their own public address.
- **Campaigns**: groups of UTM-tagged links that you read together.
- **Settings**: workspace details, members, billing, domains, API keys and your account.

The **Usage** panel shows how much of your plan's monthly allowance you have used, for example **Links this month**.

A few keyboard shortcuts speed things up outside text fields: Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) opens the **Command palette**, C starts a new link, and ? lists every shortcut under **Keyboard shortcuts**.

You can change the dashboard language and theme from the account menu.

## Create your first short link

1. Open **Links** in the sidebar.
2. Select **New link**, or paste a URL anywhere on the Links page outside a text field. Either way, the new-link form opens.
3. Enter the **Destination URL**. Shortn looks up the page and can suggest a title and key; select **Use page title** or **Use suggested key** to accept them.
4. Select **Create link**.

The link is created and copied to your clipboard, and its overview page opens. From there you can copy it again with **Copy short link**, open its **Analytics** tab or create a QR code for it. [Creating links](/docs/en/guides/links/creating-links) covers every field on the form.

## Work with a team

Each workspace has its own links, members and billing. To add a team workspace, open **Settings**, go to **General** and select **Create workspace** under **Team workspaces**. You become its owner and can invite people under **Members**. Members have one of four roles: owner, admin, member or viewer. Viewers can see links but cannot create or change them.

How many workspaces and members you can have depends on your plan.

## Plans

Free includes a monthly allowance of links and QR codes and a bio page. Paid plans raise the limits and add features such as custom keys, campaigns, analytics breakdowns and CSV export. Limits reset every billing period, and existing links keep redirecting on any plan. See [Pricing](/en/pricing) for the current plans, or [Upgrading plans](/docs/en/guides/billing/upgrading-plans) to change yours.
