Creating bio pages
A bio page gathers your links on one public page, the kind you put in a social media profile. Visitors see your profile, your links and any other sections you add, and every click is counted. This guide covers creating a page and publishing its first version.
Before you start
How many bio pages a workspace can have depends on your plan; the Bio pages list shows how many you've used. The links on a bio page are ordinary Shortn links, so they show up in Links and in analytics like any other link.
Create a page
- Open Bio pages in the sidebar and select New bio page.
- Under Address, enter the address people will visit. Use 3 to 63 lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Shortn checks whether it's free as you type.
- Optionally enter a Title, shown at the top of the page. If you leave it empty, the address is used.
- Optionally select Choose a link under First link to put one of your links on the page straight away.
- Select Create page.
The page's overview opens, with Copy URL and Open page for its public address.
Build the page
From the overview, select Edit bio page. The editor shows a live preview of your page; switch between Phone preview and Desktop preview to check both.
- Select Add section and choose what to add. The section types are Profile, Link, Social links, Section heading, Text, Image, Embed, QR code and Links.
- Select a section in the preview to edit it. Drag its handle to reorder sections.
- To add several of your links at once, add a Links section and select Manage links. You can filter by tags, search, and select links across pages before adding them.
- To add a URL that isn't a short link yet, type it into a link section and select Shorten and add link. This creates a new link in your workspace.
Changes save as a draft while you work. Visitors don't see them until you publish.
Publish
Select Publish when the draft is ready. The page is live at its address straight away. Each publish creates a version you can go back to later; see Customizing bio pages.
Share the page
Select Copy URL on the overview and paste the address into your social profiles, email signature or printed material. To change the page's name in its address, open Page settings in the editor and use Change handle. Previous addresses keep working after a change.
Bio page analytics
The Analytics tab of a bio page shows the last 30 days: Views, Clicks, Click-through rate, Clicks by block and the top referrers. The links on the page are also counted in the workspace Analytics page.
Delete a page
On the overview, select Delete bio page and confirm. The public address stops working right away and becomes free for anyone to claim. The links that were on the page keep working.
Tips
- Put the link that matters most first, or highlight it.
- Keep button text short so it fits on a phone.
- Check the phone preview before you publish, since bio pages are usually opened from a social app on a phone.
