Upgrading plans

Each workspace has its own plan. This guide covers where to see your plan and usage, how to upgrade, downgrade or cancel, how payment works, and what happens to your links when a plan changes. Only the workspace owner can change the plan or see invoices.

See your plan and usage

Open Settings and select Billing. The page has three parts:

Link and QR code limits reset every billing period. When you reach a limit, the page tells you, and you can upgrade to keep creating.

Compare plans

Select Compare plans to see every plan side by side: limits, analytics history, members, workspaces and features such as custom keys, campaigns, analytics breakdowns, CSV export and QR logos. The same information is on the Pricing page.

Prices and currency

Plans are monthly and billed in US dollars. Shortn shows a euro estimate next to each price, based on European Central Bank reference rates. Checkout charges the dollar amount; the euro figure is only an estimate.

Upgrade

  1. Open Compare plans.
  2. Select Upgrade to … on the plan you want.
  3. On Free, you go to checkout. Enter your payment details there and confirm.
  4. Back in Shortn, the billing page shows your new plan within a few seconds, once the payment provider confirms it. Select Refresh if it hasn't changed yet.

If you already pay for a plan, an upgrade opens a confirmation page instead of checkout. Select Switch to … to confirm. The new plan starts as soon as the billing provider confirms, and you are charged the prorated difference for the current period.

Downgrade

  1. Open Compare plans and select Switch to … on a lower plan.
  2. Read the confirmation page, then select Switch to ….

You keep your current plan until the end of the period. The lower plan's limits and features apply from then on. To stay on your current plan, select Keep … instead.

Cancel

  1. On the billing page, select Cancel plan.
  2. Confirm on the next page.

You keep the plan until the end of the current period; then the workspace moves to Free. Until that date you can select Keep … to resume the plan as usual.

Your links keep working

Plan limits only control what you can create. When you downgrade or cancel, existing links, QR codes and bio pages keep redirecting. Features your new plan doesn't include stop being available for new changes. For example, if your plan no longer includes QR logos, you can keep an existing logo or remove it, but not add a new one.

Payment methods and failed payments

Select Open billing portal to update your billing details or payment method. If a payment fails, the billing page shows a notice with Update payment method, so you can keep your plan.

Custom-domain add-on

Custom domains are sold as an add-on, separate from the plan. Each add-on includes one domain. Buy one from Settings under Domains with Buy domain add-on, then connect the domain there. See Customizing bio pages.

Enterprise

Enterprise plans have terms agreed with Shortn. To change one, contact Shortn.
